As a radio veteran, the Smithville native has worn the titles of Program Director, Music Director, General Manager and Community Affairs Director.  Her current show, 'Sounds of Inspiration with Tonya Rivens' is featured on Praise 100.9, Saturdays at 10AM.  Her radio career also includes stints at WPEG (Power 98), WBAV (V101.9), WGIV/Streetz Charlotte (103.3) and as the first female jock on WPZS (100.9) in 2005.

Coordinates annual youth camps, youth trips, conflict resolution workshops, Gospel Brunch, Angels in Pink Luncheon (in honor of Breast Cancer awareness) and a successful, annual outdoor gospel celebration known as ‘Praise in the Park’ (Lake Norman Empowerment Festival), started in 2004.

Original building

 When the building was purchased and renovated in 2003, it was the first business in Smithville since granddad died in more than 40 years. It's an historical black community in the south and the only neighborhood where black people could live during their time.
